AbstractThe article presents the results of research on the influence of the structure of radiation balance on the development of thermal conditions in the Cracow Upland. Based on actinometrical measurements the structure of radiation balance in two areas of morphologically different landforms was determined. It was shown that the global solar radiation K↓ reaching the valley floor during the year was on average 15% lower than the solar energy received by the plateau. At the valley floor the values of radiation balance in full spectral range Q* were 20% lower than in the plateau. The influence of solar radiation on air and soil temperature was determined using the correlation coefficient. Its highest values reaching 0.97 were found for the relation of the Earth’s longwave radiation with air temperature at the valley floor. Equally high values of the correlation coefficient were obtained for the relation of net radiation in full spectral range with air temperature.
