New release: early season red raspberry cultivar of Polish 'Delniwa' brings high quality fruit to the market

Abstract

'Delniwa' is the first early primocane red raspberry cultivar released from Niwa Berry Breeding Ltd., a Polish private breeding program established in Brzezna (southern Poland) in 2012. Its fruits have an outstanding taste, high level of extract and excellent shelf live. Measurements performed at the University of Agriculture in Krakow, Poland, using high performance liquid chromatography, HPLC, showed the high content of health beneficial phenolic compounds in the fruits. Spectrophotometric and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies revealed their high antioxidant and antiradical potential.
