Using the hydrocarbon KTS-F fraction for CHP systems

The main purpose of the research is to verify the operation of Combined Heat and Power system with conventional diesel engine, fueled with pyrolysis oil (KTS-F). The experiments were conducted by a 250 kW six-cylinder diesel engine, which was rebuild to monitor its performance and electricity production. Pyrolysis oil can be successfully used as fuel, when the temperature of air inlet is at least 100°C at the engine compression ratio of 18.2.
