A comparison of interpolation methods for flood zones adjecent to a stream

Abstract

Even small streams may cause severe flooding. e evaluation of the safety of people and objects in the area of a watercourse is related to modelling of flood zones. e area of potential flood zones is calculated on the basis of a Digital Terrain Model (DTM). is paper presents interpolation methods for creating DTMs based on land surveying data. e result of sample modelling is compared with selected interpolation methods.
