Energetyczne aspekty zintegrowanego użytkowania pastwisk górskich
AbstractThis paper presents the results of the investigations into silvopastoral utilisation of pastures and forest land in the Beskid Zywiecki mountains. The investigations were carried out on a mountain pasture (900 in a.s.1.) during 1() years and concerned the usefulness of 3 tree species (spruce, fir and beech) fbr integrated pasture and forest utilisation, the palatability of these trees for sheep, the growth rate of trees On. mountain pastures, the survival of tree seedlings and the level of wood production. It was found that among the species under study, the spruce is best suited for silvopastoral land utilisation in mountain areas because sheep do not eat its seedlings. Therefore, planting the spruce on mountain pastures, where it grows very well and quickly, can be recommended. The spruce on mountain pastures in a silvopastoral system gives also high energetic benefits. In terms of calorific value, the annual biomass increase of spruce wood per hectare corresponds with 4A Ulla of coal. It follows from the results that the silvopastoral use of mountain pastures in the Carpathians is economically profitable.
