Rośliny regenerujące w płodozmianach zbożowych
AbstractThese investigations were designed to determine which out of several tested regenerating fodder plants and which of the two compared ways of soil tillage would best fulfil the yield forming and soil sickness preventing function in cereal crop rotations. The investigations included determination of the chemical and biochemical properties of arable layer, the biological soil activity measured by the number of microorganisms, the amount and quality of plant yield components, and also the energy efficiency of the compared crop rotations. The studies were conducted in a strict field experiment on fawn soil which in the arable layer contained 34 % of sand, 41 % of silt and 25 % of floatable (silt and clay) particles. Five cereal crop rotations were compared differing in their selection of regenerating fodder plants and in the way of soil tillage (1 — traditional, and 2 — traditional + subsoiling to 50 cm depth). On the basis of five years of research (1990-1994) it was found that the tested regenerating fodder plants did not differ significantly in their effect on phenol compounds concentration in soil. Red clover most beneficially influenced soil microflora composition (the greatest number of bacteria), while fodder beets had the least effect. The total yield of three corns cultivated after regenerating fodder plants did not differ significantly either for dry matter or grain. The highest productiveness for the whole crop rotation, expressed by dry matter yield, total protein and the amount of accumulated energy, was found in the crop rotation with fodder beets, the lowest in that with faba bean. The highest energy efficiency index was noted in the crop rotation with red clover, the lowest in the one with faba bean. Additional subsoiling did not cause any significant increase in the crop yield in crop rotations but it negatively affected their energy efficiency. Traditional soil tillage supplemented with subsoiling resulted in an increase in the amount of fenol compounds and the number of bacteria only in the soil under regenerating fodder plants.
